Prettygirl asked:

My cousin’s told me I can still use baby bottle after sitting out for a few hours. The dr told me after an hour the formula needs to be tossed. How long do you leave your babies formula sitting after use? I have my baby on similac.

the doctor is correct, one hour is considered safe for formula

  3. ~*~Ky Mom~*~ says:

their only good for an hour… after that they have to be thrown away

  4. Angèle says:

Yup Doc is correct, the formula will go bad after one hour of being left out :)

  5. tanya b says:

I would say only about an hour, then I would throw it out!

one hour. You should be listening to your doctor anyway, regardless of what your cousin or any of us say. There’s a reason you chose that doctor to take care of your baby. Listen to him. Of you don’t trust his answers, the maybe you need to switch pediatricians

  7. shakira says:

OMG!! a few hours WOW, no no no, that’s absolutely misinformation. Always listen to your Pediatrician, up to one hour is right, it even states it on the Similac formula can or bottle.

I was told that it can be left out at room temperature for up to 2 hours, but if you have a bottle that your baby doesn’t finish, it should be thrown away due to bacteria from the baby’s mouth having contact with the nipple….

1 hour for formula but breast milk can be stored in a sealed container at room temperature for up to 8 hrs.
