When did you start think about the kind of Car Seat, Strollers and other much needed baby items?

SO H asked: I am four months and wanting to know when people start looking into which Car Seat and Strollers are the beat. Also does anyone have any suggtions of any good brands or store to look for these baby items. Please tell me what work and does not work for you and why.
